Chief Financial Officer

Mr. Jason TaylorJason Taylor was appointed as Chief Financial Officer for Huntsville City Schools in June 2012. Under the leadership of Superintendent Dr. Casey Wardynski, he has managed or otherwise assisted the District’s successful efforts toward securing a sound and sustainable financial position, undertaking a substantial capital construction and renovation campaign, and implementing a nationally renowned digital learning environment. 
Taylor holds a bachelor's degree in Accounting from the Birmingham Southern College in Birmingham, Alabama.  He is a Certified Public Accountant with experience in corporate and individual tax and corporate attestation services.  As well, he has served as Chief Financial Officer for a private equity holding specializing in product manufacturing.  By leveraging his background in corporate financial management, Taylor has implemented numerous innovative enterprise functions at the District, assisted in successful divestiture of $22 million in decommissioned school facilities, procured $260 million in financing (in support of a $280 million capital construction and renovation campaign), and concluded countless value-added contract negotiations on behalf of the District.  
In addition to his position as Chief Financial Officer, Taylor serves as Vice-President, Finance and Administration, and sits on the Board of Directors of the GreenpowerUSA Foundation, a non-profit organization missioned to enhance the delivery of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM)-based instruction through a design, build, race competition of student-driven electric vehicles.  The organization was founded in 2014 with substantial support from the Huntsville City Board of Education.     
Taylor is a native of Mobile, Alabama.  He is married to Tiffany Nalley Taylor, a native of Huntsville, and is the proud father of two sons, Harper and Samuel.
